Indian cricketer Manoj Tiwari has announced his retirement from international cricket. He will bid adieu to all forms of the game. Manoj represented India in 12 ODIs and three T20Is. The right-hand batter scored 287 runs in the 50-over format and has one half-century and one century. His highest score of 104 came in an ODI against Sri Lanka in 2012. In the same game, he picked up 4-61 with the ball.
Tiwary also is the Sports Minister of West Bengal and led the side in the Ranji Trophy final in 2022-23. “Goodbye to the game of cricket. This game has given me everything, I mean every single thing which I had never dreamt of, starting from the times when my life was challenged by different forms of difficulties. I will always be grateful to this game and to the GOD, who has always been by my side throughout,” Tiwari said in an Instagram post.
Big thank you to my wife - Manoj Tiwari
“Manabendra Ghosh, my father figure like coach has been the pillar in the cricketing journey. If he had not been there then I would have not reached anywhere in the cricketing circle. Thank you Sir and wish you a speedy recovery, as your health is not keeping well. Thank you to my Dad and Mom, they both never put pressure on me to focus on my studies rather they encouraged me to continue in cricket. Big thank you to my wife, @roy_susmita7 who has always been on my side from the time she came into my life,” Tiwari added.

Tiwari, in the Indian Premier League (IPL), had a much better presence as compared to the Indian Team. He has played 98 IPL games and scored 1695 runs at an average of 28.72 and at a strike rate of 116.97. He has hit seven half-centuries. He has played for four franchises in the billion-dollar league. He has part of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) title-winning side in 2012, which was their maiden IPL title.
Let us take a look at the reactions on Twitter:
That KKR stint of Manoj will always be with me ever since I was a kid.

Rest now, MT.
Winning Ranji at home, would have been a fitting farewell for him. Has been a legend in Bengal cricket, aptly called 'Chhota dada'!! 🙌

But all the best to Manoj Tiwary for the 2nd innings…
Many GenZ kids here will not know he is, an unlucky lad who scored a century in his last ODI game for India & was never given a chance in the team again. Another scapegoat that perished to the Mumbai lobby politics.

Nevertheless, he has a great career now in Politics in WB.
I can guarantee you had he originated from mumbai and mumbai lobby backed him he would have played 200+ international matches

I still remember when he was debut in Indian team, he was the only player who had an average of 100+ in domestic.
