Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) speedster Naveen ul Haq, who plays for Afghanistan in international cricket, became an overnight sensation after he was involved in a heated argument with former Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli in a low-scoring encounter between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and LSG on Monday, May 1.

Meanwhile, LSG is back in action once again on Wednesday, May 3 against the four-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. However, while training, Naveen interacted with the former IPL chairman Rajiv Shukla. It is believed that they both were talking about his dispute with Kohli and the latter must be giving advice and guiding the youngster to focus on the game only.

Talking about CSK’s journey so far in the 16the edition of IPL, with the brilliance of Shivam Dube and Ajinkya Rahane, as well as the emergence of bowlers like Tushar Deshpande and Matheesha Pathirana, MS Dhoni's team has discovered some surprise match winners this season. However, they have slumped with back-to-back losses that keep them at 10 points despite their players doing well.

I won’t back off: Naveen ul Haq

Naveen was also involved in several cricket brawls before as well. What best describes how he sees himself is something he previously said in reference to a verbal duel he had with Pakistan's Mohammad Amir and later with Shahid Afridi in 2020 during a match. The speedster said that he is not the one who backs off and he knows how to give it back.

“If someone is saying something to me I won’t back off. I have had it since childhood. It comes naturally to me. I wouldn’t be speaking truthfully if I said from tomorrow I would change it. If I said that I would back off when someone says something to me, I can’t say I wouldn’t do it. It is in my body. It is in my DNA,” Naveen was quoted as saying by The Indian Express.
