The young Indian uncapped batter Yashasvi Jaiswal is currently enjoying a purple patch with the bat. He impressed everyone with his sensational performances in the Indian Premier League 2023. The young Southpaw scored 625 runs in the 14 innings of the 14 matches that he played for Rajasthan Royals. He scored these runs with a commendable strike rate of 163.61, including a century and five half-centuries to his name.
Apart from that, Jaiswal also got picked up in the Test squad of India owing to his heroics in the Ranji Trophy last year. Meanwhile, the 21-year-old recalled the incident when he was sent off the field by the then West Zone skipper Ajinkya Rahane in the Duleep Trophy 2022. It all happened after Jaiswal was found involved in an exchange of words with South Zone cricketer Ravi Teja.
“Now what is the use of talking about things that have already happened? Aggression is important and I am aggressive mentally. Sometimes that comes out, I guess. But I hadn't said anything big at the time but it's ok, things happen. What is the use of talking about it then,” said Jaiswal to The Lallantop.
Here's what Yashasvi Jaiswal said further
“I don't want to say anything. I would rather keep it with me, and absorb it like a sponge. When I need to squeeze it, I will. Who says that, it happens to everyone. No one really comes to know about it. It depends upon who is saying what. Bhai mere ko koi mere maa behen ke baare me bolega, thodi sununga (If someone says things about my mother or my sister, I won't tolerate it),” he added.
Notably, Jaiswal could be in action in his debut Test match for India on the upcoming West Indies tour, where Team India will play the two-match Test series against the hosts. Following the conclusion of the Test series, both teams will lock horns in a three-match ODI series before getting into the five-match T20I series which will be the last assignment of the tour.
