Despite winning the third T20I against Sunday, there was still a major concern for India. During the game, their pacer Deepak Chahar pulled his hamstring and had to leave the field. This occurred during the second innings of the game. While bowling the last delivery of his second over, the bowling all-rounder was seen hobbling and limped off the field. It is to be noted that he was bowling well, and took two wickets as well.
However, Venkatesh Iyer bowled his remaining overs, and even he took two wickets. As far as Chahar's injury is concerned, there hasn't been any official news regarding the same. According to a report by India Today, it is being ascertained. If it is serious, possibly a muscle tear, then he could miss a few games of the upcoming fifteenth edition of the Indian T20 league. He was purchased for a whopping amount of INR 14 crore in the recently concluded mega auction by Chennai thus the franchise will be keeping a keen eye on his recovery. Even if it is a Grade A tear, Chahar is very likely to miss the SL series as he will need around six weeks to recover. This series is all set to start on February 24.
As far as the final T20I against West Indies is concerned, India beat the visitors by 17 runs. It was Suryakumar Yadav and Venkatesh Iyer who were absolutely superb. Earlier, India had defeated West Indies in the ODI series as well. In fact, they went on to win all their six white ball matches against the Pollard-led side.
