Both India and Pakistan are currently busy playing the ongoing 20-20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. Both these teams also faced each other on 23 October in Melbourne. However, the Men in Blue defeated the Men in Green by four wickets. Meanwhile, before that mega clash, both countries’ Cricket Boards got involved in a heated controversy.
Jay Shah of the Indian Cricket Board announced that India will not visit Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023. Even, the tournament will happen in a neutral venue where they can play against each other. But, now reports are there that both India and Pakistan can play in an ODI Tri-series.

Pakistan Cricket Board was not happy with the decision not to send India to their country for Asia Cup 2023
According to SEN 1116, There is a possibility of triangular ODI series between India vs Pakistan vs Australia or an India vs Pakistan Test match in Australia as discussions are going on. Either, India, Pakistan, and Australia will play a triangular ODI series. Otherwise, India can play a Test match against Pakistan in Australia.
However, no official confirmation has come from any boards. Speaking about the recent controversy, Jay Shah dismissed that by saying that the Asia Cup 2023 will happen in a neutral venue. Due to political reasons, both teams are not allowed to visit each other’s country. After that, many fans slammed the Indian Board for taking such a decision. Even, the Pakistan Board shared a statement regarding their stand over the whole matter.
They said that if India do not come to Pakistan for that tournament, then their participation in further major tournaments might get hampered. Speaking about both teams’ journey so far in the ongoing World Cup, India have managed to win two games out of three. On the other hand, Pakistan have lost two out of their three games. However, both teams are still fighting to get qualified for the semi-finals of the 20-20 World Cup 2022.
