The star Indian pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah has made an amazing comeback for Team India after a long wait of 11 months. Notably, he was not in action in international cricket since September 2022, owing to a back injury that he sustained during the T20I series against Australia.
Making an impactful comeback in the first T20I of the three-match series against Ireland, Bumrah scalped 2 wickets at the cost of only 24 runs in his quota of 4 overs. Apart from that, the 29-year-old is also leading the Men in Blue in the absence of regular skipper Rohit Sharma and star all-rounder Hardik Pandya.
Apart from stand-in skipper Bumrah’s comeback for Team India, star pacer Prasidh Krishna and IPL 2023 sensation Rinku Singh are making their debuts in T20I for Team India. Indian selectors picked Rinku on the grounds of his brilliant outings in the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League. He is also a part of the Indian squad for the upcoming Asian Games 2023 under the captaincy of young batter Ruturaj Gaikwad.
Jasprit Bumrah comes back after missing a couple of major international assignments
Coming back to Jasprit Bumrah, he missed a couple of major international assignments including Asia Cup 2022, T20 World Cup 2022, and the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023 against Australia. He is going to be a key factor in India’s preparations for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023 and the ODI World Cup 2023 in India.
Recently, India played without Bumrah in the recently-concluded five-match T20I series against West Indies, where they lost by 2-3 against the hosts. The team was led by the stand-in skipper Hardik Pandya.
Speaking of Bumrah’s amazing comeback in the first T20I against Ireland, the fans were happy following his brilliant outing. They lauded the 29-year-old for leading from the front with an example from his bowling in his very first over of the match.
