Like others, Cricketers too have a liking for different sports. They have often been found attending matches of sports other than cricket. Sachin Tendulkar has famously attended Tennis matches. Similarly, active cricketers are also fans of other sports.

Football for example is one sport which is liked by a lot of Indian players. Whenever the Indian cricket team is on a tour of England many Indian players visit English Premier League clubs.

Shreyas Iyer recently visited Chelsea, his favourite club in football. The official Chelsea Twitter page posted a picture of the Indian batter holding his Test match jersey at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea’s home ground. The post was captioned, "Thanks for stopping by at The Bridge Shreyas Iyer."

Chelsea are one of the biggest Football clubs in the world having won multiple trophies in its 117-year history. Their recent success came when they won the biggest club football trophy the Champions League in 2021.

The West London team finished third in the English Premier League with 74 points last season. Under the new ownership of Todd Boehly Chelsea are looking to get back to their best and win a trophy next season. So far the West London club has made two signings. Raheem Sterling was signed from Manchester City in a Β£50 million deal, whereas Kalidou Koulibaly was brought in for Β£35 million from Napoli.

They are looking to strengthen their back line with some quality defenders. Their pursuit of Jules Kounde ended when Barcelona hijacked the transfer and signed the player from Sevilla.

Currently, Chelsea are in talks with Leicester City’s Wesley Fofana who is keen to join the London club. They are also in talks with Barcelona player Frankie de Jong and Marc Cucurella.

Coming on to Shreyas Iyer, the Mumbai batter is currently on a tour to West Indies with India. In the T20I so far he has made 0, 10 and 24 runs against West Indies. India are 2-1 ahead in the series with two more games left. The next two matches will be held in Florida, USA.
