Amid the pressure from fans, The Apex Cricket Council finally released the revised schedule for the ODI World Cup 2023. According to the revised schedule, India will now face arch-rival Pakistan on October 14 instead of October 15 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Overall, nine matches have been rescheduled due to various reasons, including security concerns.
Apart from this, The Pakistan versus Sri Lanka encounter in Hyderabad has been moved forward from October 12 to October 10, while the fixture between South Africa and Australia in Lucknow has been brought forward from October 13 to October 12. Additionally, the New Zealand versus Bangladesh match in Chennai, originally slated for October 14, has been moved to October 13 and will now be a day-night contest instead of a daytime fixture.
Similarly, the England versus Bangladesh game in Dharamsala, initially a day-night affair, will now be played during the day on October 10. Shifting the focus to November 12, the double headers involving England versus Pakistan in Kolkata and Australia versus Bangladesh in Pune will be moved up a day to November 11. Finally, India's last league match against the Netherlands in Bengaluru has been rescheduled from November 11 to November 12, concluding the adjustments to the schedule.
Tickets will go on sale in phases to ensure management
In another piece of heartening news, the tickets for the marquee event will go live on August 25 in a phased manner. Before the release of tickets, fans will need to enrol themselves on the official website of the Cricket World Cup to get the latest updates. Enrollment will start on August 15. Fans can register via Tickets for various matches in the tournament will be available for purchase on specific dates.
Starting August 25, tickets for non-India warm-up matches and all non-India event matches will be accessible. Subsequently, on August 30, tickets for India match at Guwahati and Trivandrum will go on sale, followed by India matches at Chennai, Delhi, and Pune on August 31. On September 1, tickets for India matches in Dharamsala, Lucknow, and Mumbai will be made available.
Meanwhile, tickets for India matches in Bengaluru and Kolkata will be released on September 2. Tickets for India matches in Ahmedabad can be purchased starting September 3. Lastly, tickets for the Semi-Finals and Final will be up for sale starting September 15. Notably, India will play their two warm-up games in Guwahati and Trivandrum, while other venues will host event games.
