The media reports have learned that Pakistan have requested and expressed their willingness to play the World Cup match against Afghanistan in Bengaluru instead of the already assigned venue of the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Apart from seeking a venue swap for the match against Afghanistan, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has requested to shift their match against Australia from Bengaluru to Chennai; the same venue where they have been scheduled to face Afghanistan in the World Cup.

“Pakistan analysts have started examining the data concerning the World Cup 2023 venues for the national team. In light of their request, they have expressed their desire to play their match against Australia in Chennai instead of Afghanistan,” understands the report in Cricket Pakistan.

“Pakistan analysts are examining venue data, and specific objections have been raised for various reasons. Some authorities believe India has intentionally proposed matches in venues where the Pakistan team may encounter challenges related to pitch conditions, practice facilities, and travel arrangements. These concerns have led to discussions and further analysis by the relevant parties involved,” the report adds further.
