I love Test cricket, I like this challenge: Yashasvi Jaiswal

Jaiswal after the end of Day 2 stated, "I think this is one of the emotional knock for me, it's difficult to get opportunities in the Indian team, I would like to thank everyone, the supporters, team management and Rohit Bhai. The pitch is on the slower side and the outfield is very slow, it was difficult and challenging, it was pretty hot and I wanted to keep doing it for my country, just play ball-by-ball and enjoy my cricket."

"I love Test cricket, I like this challenge, I enjoy the situation when the ball swings and seams. We have worked hard on everything, I've just gone out to express myself. Was an emotional moment (on his century), was just proud of myself, thankful for everyone, this is just a start and I want to do well going further."

Former India captain Virat Kohli has now scored 8,500 Test runs. The 34-year-old reached the milestone on the same day that captain Rohit Sharma reached 3,500 runs in the same format. Kohli is currently the fifth-best run-scorer in Test cricket for India. The south-paw has surpassed former Indian skipper Mohammed Azharuddin on an elite list. Jaiswal has faced the most balls by an Indian batter on debut in Test cricket.

For young batters, playing 350 balls in an innings on debut is a noteworthy achievement. Jaiswal had already done so in first-class cricket back home, and he did it again on his debut for India.
