Former India skipper and the batting superstar, Virat Kohli is set to be in action with Team India in the upcoming two-match Test series against West Indies. Both teams will lock horns in the first of the two-match Test series at Windsor Park in Dominica on Wednesday, the 12th of July.

Meanwhile, Kohli shared a special post on his official Instagram handle with the head coach of Team India, Rahul Dravid. Notably, Rahul Dravid and Virat Kohli were teammates when India toured West Indies 12 years back in the year 2011. It was the same series in which Kohli made his Test debut for India.

But now, both the former teammates are in different roles for Team India as Dravid is in the capacity of head coach of the side. Whereas, the 34-year-old veteran batter is now mostly known as the former skipper of the team and one of the senior players.

“The only two guys part of the last test we played at Dominica in 2011. Never imagined the journey would bring us back here in different capacities. Highly grateful,” reads the caption of the Instagram post uploaded by Virat Kohli on his official Instagram handle.

Notably, Virat Kohli and the other senior players including the current skipper Rohit Sharma, were on the receiving end of criticism from the cricket experts and Indian cricket fans. It all started after India’s humiliating defeat in the World Test Championship 2023 final against Australia. Virat couldn’t live up to his stature in the all-important match for India which led him to get subjected to criticism from the fans.

Now, the upcoming Test series against West Indies will be the first assignment of Team India in the new World Test Championship cycle from 2023 to 2025.

Here’s a look at the India squad for the Tests against West Indies:

Rohit Sharma (Captain), Shubman Gill, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Virat Kohli, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ajinkya Rahane (vice-captain), KS Bharat (wicket-keeper), Ishan Kishan (wicket-keeper), Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur, Axar Patel, Mohd.
