It is highly condemnable to make children/sportspersons do such a thing - DM, Deoria
"The matter is serious and it is necessary to investigate it. It is highly condemnable to make children/sportspersons do such a thing. Appropriate action will be taken after getting the inquiry report," said DM on Thursday, the 9th of February.
Notably, it is the third major news of allegations in the last couple of days on the behavior of coaches in the Indian sports circle with the young and aspiring sportsperson. Just a few days back, a national kabaddi player accused her coach of sexually assaulting her and extorting to give prize money that the former won in the competitions.
Prior to that, a few renowned wrestlers including the likes of Vinesh Phogat, Sakshee Malik, and Bajrang Punia happened to sit in a protest against the president of the wrestling federation. They also accused the federation coaches and president of sexually harassing the female wrestlers. Later on, the police registered a complaint under the appropriate sections of the Indian Penal Code.
The govt. also formed a committee to probe the entire matter and settle down the things between wrestlers and the federation.
