Gujarat Titans have been left with a big void after the trade of skipper Hardik Pandya to his old franchise Mumbai Indians. It all happened after a massive all-cash trade between the Gujarat Titans and the Mumbai Indians for the star Indian all-rounder. Following this, the IPL 2022 champions would be looking ahead for a perfect replacement for Hardik in the upcoming edition of the tournament.
In the same line of events, former Indian cricketer and now commentator, Irfan Pathan suggested the name star Afghanistan all-rounder Azmatullah Omarzai, who can be picked by Gujarat Titans during the IPL 2024 mini-auction to replace Hardik Pandya.

Pathan also lauded the brilliant all-round abilities of Omarzai, which the latter showcased while playing for Afghanistan in the recently concluded ODI World Cup 2023.
“Looking at the Gujarat Titans, they are missing out on Hardik Pandya. They are missing out on a leader and a guy who can do both (bat and ball) equally really well. Who is there at the auction table?” said Irfan Pathan on Star Sports.
“I see Azmatullah Omarzai going to Gujarat Titans because he is a perfect fit. We have Rashid Khan there as well, who can get the best out of his countryman. Apart from an all-rounder, they require a proper fast bowler there. They need to go for that extra pace and they have a good purse available,” he added later.
Apart from this, the former Indian batter Sanjay Manjrekar also spoke about the question of Kane Williamson’s availability for the Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League 2024.
“I am looking at the foreign players and that's why the Kane Williamson conundrum will haunt the Gujarat Titans. You have got David Miller, who has to play. You have got Rashid Khan, who has to play,” Manjrekar said.
“Josh Little was I think very good and Noor Ahmad, who they used with the new ball and at the death as well. So there is going to be a struggle for Kane Williamson to get in and I would not get too excited with Kane Williamson because we are talking about T20 cricket,” he explained further.
