The veteran Indian batter Shikhar Dhawan recently met the England players ahead of the highly-anticipated ODI World Cup 2023 clash between India and England on Sunday, October 29 at the BRSABV Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. Notably, India and England have gone through a completely different run of form in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023.

The hosts haven’t lost any match and are unbeaten after winning five successive matches; on the other hand, England have faced four defeats in the 5 matches, they played so far.

Coming back to Shikhar Dhawan, he is currently out of action from the field; meanwhile, he met a few star England cricketers ahead of their big game against the men in blue. The players who met Dhawan included the likes of blistering opener Jonny Bairstow, middle-order batter Liam Livingstone, star all-rounder Sam Curran and pacer Chris Woakes.

Subsequently, Shikhar Dhawan also shared a picture of him with the English cricketers, on his official X handle (formerly Twitter).

“Is Baar Teen Guna Lagaan Dena Padega (This time, you have to give the three times tax),” read the witty caption posted by the veteran Indian Southpaw in his X-post. His post also attracted a lot of reactions from cricket fans over the micro-blogging site.

Talking about cricket, the defending champions England are currently on the brink of exit from the ongoing edition of the ODI World Cup as they have only 2 points to their name in the points table of the tournament. The Three Lions are currently placed in the ninth spot of the table. They are just above the lowest-ranked team in the tournament, the Netherlands.

Following the clash against Rohit Sharma’s India, Jos Buttler’s men will take on the mighty Australia in the seventh match of their ODI World Cup campaign. They will play this match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday, November 4.
