The first T20I between India and Afghanistan is set to happen at PCA IS Bindra stadium in Mohali. The series between the two sides is set to be crucial in terms of the preparation of either side in the lead-up to the T20 WC 2024. For India, there are no other series scheduled to happen before the T20 WC 2024 barring the one against the Asian side.

On the other hand, Afghanistan will be happy to get some exposure against a strong side like India which would be crucial for them ahead of the big tournament. For the expectations of the fans, the match must be good enough. For that to happen, the weather must permit the play. It is time to look at the weather of Mohali for the play.

In the last few weeks, the weather in northern India has been chilling cold. Given that it is winter, the weather is too cold. Even in Mohali, it was the same, as the players found it difficult even to have a practice session. The same is expected to happen on the day of the match. The players will have a difficult time playing in the middle.

Will rain play spoilsport?

The weather will be extremely cold in Mohali for the match. However, the fans are concerned if the match could have a result or not. Rain is however not going to affect the match. There are clear clouds reported during the match. So a full match can be expected between the two sides. The challenge for players would be to give their best in the chilling cold, which is never easy.

According to the weather forecast, the temperature is going to hover from 13 degrees Celsius to 6 degrees Celsius. It will decrease with the progression of the night. There is a chance of dew setting in, which is reported to be around 4 degrees centigrade. The humidity will be around 55 %. Rohit Sharma will be leading India in the match and the series.
