Cricket's governing body announces 'Player of the Month' nominations for October 2023

The nominations of men's cricketers for the 'Player of the Month' award have been made on the grounds of their performances in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023.

In a recent piece of news, cricket’s governing body announced the nominations of the ‘Player of the Month’ award for October 2023. The Apex body announced the three names each from women’s cricketers and men’s cricketers. The list includes some new entries, having the names of some youngsters and the veteran ones as well.

Speaking of men’s cricket, the three nominations for the ‘Player of the Month’ award are Quinton de Kock of South Africa, Rachin Ravindra of New Zealand and India’s Jasprit Bumrah. Notably, all of these three have produced some impressive performances so far, throughout the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023.

Quinton de Kock is currently at the top of the list of the leading run-scorers in the tournament, followed by the former Indian skipper and the modern-day batting great, Virat Kohli. De Kock has also stunned everyone by smashing four massive centuries in the ongoing edition of the prestigious cricket quadrennial so far. He is actively leading the race for the Golden Bat Award in the tournament.

Rachin Ravindra and Jasprit Bumrah give tough time to De Kock

Alongside De Kock, another name in the list of three men’s nominations is Rachin Ravindra, the young batting sensation of New Zealand. Ravindra has amazed everyone with his sensational performances in the tournament. He is currently in the third spot of the leading run-scorers of the tournament following Virat Kohli.

Rachin Ravindra has amassed three centuries so far in the tournament, which have cemented his place in the top-order batting lineup of the Blackcaps. Following De Kock and Rachin Ravindra, there’s an entry from the Indian team as well and he is none other than the star pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, who has come up with some stellar performances with the ball in the tournament so far. He is also in the list of the leading wicket-takers of the tournament.

Talking about women’s cricket nominations for this award, the list includes Hayley Matthews of West Indies, Bangladesh’s Nahida Akter, and Amelia Kerr of New Zealand
