The ‘Rohit Sharma and Mumbai Indians captaincy’ row has been making it to the headlines of the social and mainstream media for the last couple of weeks. It all started with the moment in December last year when Mumbai Indians appointed Hardik Pandya as a skipper to replace former skipper Rohit Sharma.
Apart from that, the most recent development in this case was when the former SA wicketkeeper-batter and current head coach of MI, Mark Boucher spoke about the decision made by the franchise and named it completely ‘cricketing decision’ and nothing against Rohit Sharma.
In the same line of events, Rohit Sharma’s wife Ritika Sajdeh came up with a comment on the SmashSports podcast’s Instagram post, which stated about Mark Boucher’s statement. “So many things wrong with this,” wrote Ritika in the comment section.
Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma himself has come up with a cryptic post on his Instagram handle almost four days after his wife’s reaction to Mark Boucher’s statement. The Indian skipper posted a picture with his wife Ritika and captioned it as, “Always by my side Ritika Sajdeh.”
Here’s a look at the Instagram posted by Rohit Sharma:
Speaking of Mark Boucher’s statement about the decision of Mumbai Indians, he looked quite keen on having Rohit Sharma as a proper batter.
“It's just more of a cricketing decision that was made and I do think it is going to bring the best out of Rohit as a person as a player. Just let him go out and enjoy and score some good runs. He's been captaining for ages and he's done well for Mumbai Indians,” said Boucher on SmashSports Podcast.
“Now he also leads India as well. It is that he walks into a place and there are just cameras in it and he's so busy and he hasn't had probably the best couple of seasons of late with the bat but he's done well as a captain,” he added later.
