Ahead of the fourth Test match England captain Ben Stokes has refused to give confirmation on his bowling. The fourth Test match will be held in JSCA International Stadium Complex, Ranchi. Ahead of the fourth Test match England head coach Brendon McCullum has stated that Ben Stokes may be doing bowling but he will not bowling long spells until he is confident.
Since second Test against Australia in June 2023 the all-rounder Ben Stokes hasn’t bowl due to knee injury. After the 2023 ODI World Cup in India he underwent knee surgery. England’s main plan was to keep away Ben Stokes from bowling for the five-match Test series against India. However, England is trailing behind by 2-1 in the ongoing Test series Ben Stokes has started bowling in the nets while practicing.
England won the first Test match against India by 28 runs. But lost the second Test match by 106 runs. His lack of presence as a bowler has been visible, especially now that India has won two out of the last three Tests and leads the five-match series 2-1.
Ben Stokes is just three wickets away from taking 200 wickets
The third Test match against India marked Ben Stokes playing his 100th Test match for England. While playing 100th Test games he has took 197 wickets with an average of 32.07. If he bowls in the last two Test matches, he will achieve the milestone of 200 wickets. The third Test match was miserable for the England team as they were bowled out on the score of 122 runs letting India win the Test match by 434 runs.
England captain Ben Stokes has played 12 Test matches in India so far. In 12 Test games he has bowled 13 innings. So far, he has bowled 139 overs and took 13 wickets in India. In 2016 England’s tour of India Ben Stokes took a five-wicket haul. This was his first five-wicket haul against India in away condition.
