Star India all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been in the headlines for the last couple of days since his all-cash trade to Mumbai Indians from the former franchise Gujarat Titans. Hardik captained Gujarat Titans for two consecutive successful seasons, guiding the team to a title win in IPL 2022 and making it to the finals in IPL 2023.

Apart from this, Hardik also attracted eyeballs when he was ruled out in the middle of the ODI World Cup 2023 due to an injury in the group-stage match against Bangladesh. He was replaced by Suryakumar Yadav in the batting line up whereas the team management included the veteran pacer Mohammed Shami as a replacement for Shardul Thakur.

Ajay Jadeja takes a funny dig at Hardik Pandya

Meanwhile, the former India batter Ajay Jadeja recently came up with a trolling statement for Hardik Pandya. Jadeja spoke sarcastically about the availability of Hardik Pandya on the field for Team India.

"You get a fast-bowling all-rounder very rarely," asked the Sports Tak anchor to Ajay Jadeja.

"You didn't get the meaning. He is a very 'rare' talent, he is rarely seen on the ground. Hai toh rare waise. (He is indeed rare.)" Jadeja replied.

"Rohit Sharma will handle it with grace." - Ravichandran Ashwin about MI captaincy

Amidst all this, there have been a lot of statements on Hardik Pandya’s return to his previous IPL franchise Mumbai Indians. In the same line of events, the veteran Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin also expressed his opinion about the same

“Rohit Sharma will handle it with grace as he does not have much ego,” said Ashwin on the question of Hardik Pandya getting appointed as MI skipper.

"In the history of IPL, apart from the top four to five teams, all have released players. Mumbai and CSK have never done it. I know Hardik to an extent. I see this move as a milestone achievement," he added later

Notably, Hardik Pandya will be out of action for Team India for the next couple of weeks as the management recently announced the squad for an all-format tour to South Africa, in which Hardik Pandya is not there as he is still recovering from the injury.
