It was completely a ‘Dhoni and CSK fever’ across all the venues where the yellow outfits played their matches in the Indian Premier League 2023. Meanwhile, there have been a lot of questions and speculations among fans about the future of MS Dhoni with the Chennai Super Kings and whether he will be appearing in IPL 2024 for the team or not.
Amidst all this, Dhoni himself admitted that he will go through the process of working on his fitness and his potential return in IPL 2024 to extend his gratitude to the fans throughout the country for their immense love and support.
"He already told me what he was planning to do in that interview." - CSK CEO about MS Dhoni
Now, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan recently came up with a big statement on the question of whether Dhoni will be there at CSK as a skipper in the IPL 2024 or not. Notably, Dhoni was recently retained by CSK as a skipper in the IPL 2024 retention day ahead of the mini-auction for the 17th edition of the tournament.
“If our leader has given a word, he has never gone back. He already told me what he was planning to do in that interview. I am sure that knowing MS, he will always do what he has committed to do. He is quite fit. Thalaivan is thalaivan (our leader is our leader),” said Kasi Viswanathan in a video uploaded by CSK on their official social media channels.
Coming back to Dhoni, he was grappling with a knee injury during the IPL 2023. He was seen wearing a kneecap during the matches while keeping the wickets and batting as well. Subsequently, he went through a knee surgery which ended up as a successful one. Following that, he has been seen practising in Ranchi a couple of times after a successful injury.
For the unversed, MS Dhoni is the only active captain from those who led their respective teams in the inaugural season of the Indian Premier League 15 years back in the year 2008.
