The defending champions of the Indian Premier League, Chennai Super Kings are all set to gear up their preparations for the upcoming IPL 2024. The CSK management tried to strengthen their squad for the upcoming edition of the tournament as they picked up some star players during the IPL 2024 auction.
With said that, here we’ll have a look at the predicted strongest playing XI of the five-time champions, Chennai Super Kings for the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League. This XI also includes the young stars, alongside the support from the experienced veterans.
Openers – Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad
The CSK might come up with the same opening pair of the New Zealand veteran Devon Conway and star Indian batter Ruturaj Gaikwad, during the IPL 2024 as well. The duo produced some brilliant partnerships during the Indian Premier League 2023. Devon Conway also impressed the cricket fans with his crucial performances for New Zealand in the ODI World Cup 2023.

Middle-Order – Rachin Ravindra, Daryl Mitchell, Sameer Rizvi, and MS Dhoni (C&WK)
The CSK has strengthened their top middle-order after including the in-form batting sensation from New Zealand, Rachin Ravindra. The 23-year-old was one of the key performers for the Kiwis in the ODI World Cup 2023, he played a crucial role and helped his side to reach the semi-finals of the tournament.
Alongside Rachin, his batting order could be followed by his senior New Zealand teammate Daryl Mitchell who could enhance the team’s batting with his experience. Apart from these two, the uncapped Indian youngster Sameer Rizvi might also make it to the playing XI to bat at number five ahead of the skipper MS Dhoni.
All-Rounders – Shivam Dube and Ravindra Jadeja
Shivam Dube was quite impressive in a few matches for CSK in the IPL 2023, he could also produce some crucial performances with the ball for his side in the next edition of the tournament.
CSK management might add the veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja to accompany Shivam Dube. Notably, it was Jadeja who stood strong and emerged as the hero of CSK’s title win in the IPL 2023 final against the Gujarat Titans.
Bowlers – Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar, and Mustafizur Rahman
Having Shivam Dube and Ravindra Jadeja as two all-rounders who can bowl spin, the CSK might go with the out-and-out three pacers in the playing XI for the Indian Premier League 2023.
