The umpiring standards were under the scanner for a big flaw in the third and last T20I of the three-match series between India and South Africa. Both teams will play this match at the New Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on Thursday, December 14. A big blunder in umpiring happened when the veteran Proteas batter David Miller was caught by Jitesh Sharma off Ravindra Jadeja’s delivery.
Both Jadeja and wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma went on to come up with a huge appeal but umpire refused to acknowledge their appeal. In a hard luck for India, the Decision Review System wasn’t available at that moment owing to the technical issue.
Meanwhile, former Indian cricketer and now commentator, Aakash Chopra lashed out at the umpiring system in South Africa for his big blunder on a crucial occasion in the match.
“Umpiring in SA is (shocking emoji), and it’s not an isolated case to be honest,” wrote Aakash Chopra in his post from his official X handle (formerly Twitter)

And it’s not an isolated case tbh. #IndvSA
Speaking of the action of the last and third T20I between South Africa and India, the hosts’ skipper Aiden Markram won the toss and asked India to bat first. Batting first, the men in blue posted a big total of 201 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs courtesy of skipper Suryakumar Yadav’s swashbuckling century, scoring 100 runs off just 56 balls.
Later in the second innings, the star Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav claimed a five-wicket haul, claiming 5 wickets at the cost of just 17 runs in 2.5 overs. Other than him, star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja also picked 2 wickets, alongside 1 wicket each bagged by Mukesh Kumar and Arshdeep Singh.
On the back of the heroic performance from the bowlers, India bundled out South Africa at the score of 95 runs in 13.5 overs and won the match by 106 runs to equal the series by 1-1.
