Indian Cricket Board bans Manish Pandey from bowling due to suspected action

In a recent piece of news, the Indian Cricket Board came up with the name of seven Indian cricketers, including both capped and uncapped, who have been found bowling with a suspected action. One of the highlighting names in this list the Indian batter and former Delhi Capitals star Manish Pandey.

Pandey has been among the two cricketers, alongside KL Srijith have been banned by the Indian Cricket Board from bowling. Notably, both Manish Pandey and KL Srijith play for Karnataka in the domestic circuit of India.

Apart from that, the Indian Cricket Board has also pointed out the name of young pacer Chetan Sakariya; he was released by Rajasthan Royals ahead of the IPL 2024 mini-auction. However, the board hasn’t imposed any ban on Sakariya regarding the same and his home state board has also not been informed about the same by the Indian Cricket Board.

Chetan Sakariya is recovering from a stress fracture in his back; he is also set to go under the hammer in the upcoming mini-auction for the next edition of the Indian Premier League. 

Here’s a look at the other six players found guilty of suspected bowling action: 

Tanush Kotian (Mumbai), Rohan Kunnummal (Kerala), Chirag Gandhi (Saurashtra), Salman Nizar (Kerala), Saurabh Dubey (Vidarbha), and Arpit Guleria (Himachal Pradesh).

Talking about the upcoming Indian Premier League 2024, the auction for the 17th edition of the tournament is set to be held just after two days on Tuesday, December 19. 10 participating franchises will be contesting for a total of 333 registered players to go under the hammer. 

Out of these 333 cricketers, there are 214 Indian cricketers, alongside 119 overseas and 2 associate cricketers (from Namibia and the Netherlands). IPL 2024 is expected to be played quite early next year in March and April due to the upcoming General Elections in India.
