Young Indian wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan has been benched for most of the part of the league stage of the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023. He has played only two matches in the tournament in the initial part of the tournament, against Australia and Afghanistan, respectively. But since then, he has been dedicatedly involved in carrying the drinks for Team India in all the matches he was benched.

Meanwhile, Ishan attracted the eyeballs for one of his hilarious antics in the recently concluded match against the Netherlands; it all happened during the first innings when India lost the second wicket in skipper Rohit Sharma and Ishan came with the drinks there in the middle for Virat Kohli. He bagged the eyeballs when he went on to drink water himself first before giving it to Kohli.

The incident happened when India scored 129 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 17.4 overs and Ishan’s antic left the cricket fans in splits so that they couldn’t resist coming up with a lot of witty and hilarious responses on X (formerly Twitter).

Speaking of the action of the match between the Netherlands and India, the hosts skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bat first. On the back of amazing centuries smashed by Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul, India scored a massive total of 410 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the allotted 50 overs. Shreyas and KL scored 128 runs and 102 runs, respectively, following the three successive half-centuries scored by the top three, including Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Virat Kohli.

While defending the target, India bundled out the Netherlands on the score of 250 runs 47.5 overs and won the match by 160 runs to remain unbeaten in the league stage with 9 successive wins in all 9 matches.
