Meanwhile, the 10 participating teams have already announced their released and retained players ahead of the min-auction for the next edition of the Indian Premier League. So, the stage is all set for one of the biggest cricketing fares.
Amidst all this, there are also some in-form players, that teams might eye during the auction for the IPL 2024. The list might include some cricketing stars, who were in a red-hot form during the recently concluded ODI World Cup 2023.
With that said, here we’ll have a look at three players who can fetch a huge amount of money during the mini-auction in the next season of the tournament.
Travis Head
The star Australian opener was in sensational form during the ODI World Cup 2023, he was forced to stay out of the initial matches of Australia due to his injury. But he left everyone stunned with his excellent batting when he returned to the side in the middle of the tournament.
Head scored 329 runs in just 6 innings of the 6 matches, he played for the six-time World Cup champions; in these matches, he had an amazing average of 54.83, including 2 centuries and a half-century. Rachin Ravindra
The young debutant for New Zealand, Rachin Ravindra emerged as the best find of the ODI World Cup 2023; he went on to break the big record of the former legendary Indian batter Sachin Tendulkar by scoring the most runs in an ODI World Cup 2023 before turning 25.
In most of the matches, Rachin Ravindra played as a replacement for the injured Kiwi skipper Kane Williamson; but even in the presence of Kane in the playing XI, Rachin showed his batting prowess and cemented his place in the XI throughout the entire tournament. Josh Hazlewood
The veteran Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood was released by his former franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore but his numbers in the biggest stage of cricket say something else. The 32-year-old pacer finished in the 8th spot on the list of top-10 leading wicket-takers in the ODI World Cup 2023.
He bagged 16 wickets in 11 innings of the 11 matches, he played for the World Champions, Australia. Hazlewood had an excellent strike rate of 4.81, including his memorable performance in the final against India at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Considering his vast experience across the franchise leagues, including the IPL itself, the teams in the IPL 2024 mini-auction could look ahead to get Hazlewood’s experience in their squad.
