The newly appointed Australian skipper Alyssa Healy came up with a warning statement for India ahead of the long assignment for Australian women in India for the bilateral assignment against India Women. Notably, Healy was recently appointed as the skipper of the Australia Women’s team after the veteran star and multi-time World Champion skipper Meg Lanning hung her boots in international cricket.

Coming back to Healy’s statement ahead of the series against India, she warned the hosts on the concern of making spin-friendly pitches for the series. Healy also pointed out that Australia have also some brilliant and quality spinners in Ashleigh Gardner, Alana King, Georgia Wareham and Jess Jonassen; all of these are very experienced and talented performers.

Here’s what Alyssa Healy said on Indian pitches

“I’m intrigued to see what sort of wickets they prepare. I think we’ve got a good spin attack, so do that at your peril,” said Alyssa Healy to reporters on the question of tracks in India.

“Don’t get me wrong, the Indians have got a strong spin attack as well, but we’ve got some of the best leg-spinners in the world. We’ve got Ash Gardner, who took nine wickets on English soil with the ball in hand, so prepare spinning wickets at your demise. It will be interesting to see if they make it nice and flat, but I haven’t played at Wankhede since the IPL exhibition game a couple of years ago, so I’m excited about that experience,” she added later.

Notably, the home series for India Women against Australia Women will start with a one-off Test match between both teams, which will be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday, December 21.

Following the conclusion of this Test match, the hosts will take on Alyssa Healy & co. in the three-match ODI series, starting on Thursday, December 28. Alongside the only Test, all matches of the ODI series will also be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

The three-match T20I, starting on Friday, January 5, will be played at the Dr DY Patil Sports Complex in Navi Mumbai.
