In a recent piece of news, the star all-rounder Hardik Pandya got traded back to his former franchise Mumbai Indians for the IPL 2024 from his current franchise, Gujarat Titans. The most interesting fact about the ‘Hardik Pandya’ trade from Gujarat Titans to Mumbai Indians is that it is completely an all-cash trade, which didn’t involve swapping of Hardik Pandya.
So, the Titans will be receiving INR 15 crores from the Mumbai Indians for releasing their captain, who led the side in IPL 2022 and 2023. Meanwhile, the former legendary South African batter and former skipper, AB de Villiers came up with a big prediction about Hardik’s future with the Mumbai Indians.

On his YouTube channel, De Villiers predicted that Hardik to lead the Mumbai Indians in the future. He also spoke about the star all-rounder’s long association with the five-time IPL champions.
“I find it strange that Rohit Sharma handed over the captaincy to Hardik Pandya. But Rohit may also be under a lot of pressure from the leadership of the Indian team. In such a situation, Hardik can take the captaincy of the Mumbai Indians team and reduce Rohit’s burden. This is a big deal for the Mumbai team. Pandya loves playing at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai,” said AB de Villiers in a video on his YouTube channel.
This statement from the former Proteas legend also attracted a lot of reactions from cricket fans, especially the fans of the Mumbai Indians.
Talking about Hardik’s stint of two seasons with the Gujarat Titans, he led the team in two successful seasons in the Indian Premier League in 2022 and 2023, respectively. The team created history by winning the title in their debut edition, in Indian Premier League 2022 by defeating Rajasthan Royals in the final.
Later, in the Indian Premier League 2023, They missed the title by a very rare margin, losing against Chennai Super Kings in the final of the tournament.
