Young Indian batting sensation Rinku Singh produced a brilliant and blistering performance in the first T20I of the five-match series against Australia. He finished the game for India with a quick and impressive knock of 22 runs off just 14 balls, with 4 fours.

However, he finished the match with a six when India needed 1 run off the last ball but his six was not counted as Sean Abbott bowled a no-ball, which already added a run in India’s account and they won the run by 6 wickets.

Furthermore, Rinku Singh after his cool and calm winning finish, credited MS Dhoni for guiding the former to maintain calmness in any kind of pressure situation.

“I once had a word with Mahi bhai (MS Dhoni) and asked him what is his finishing process in the final over in a chase. He told me the key is to remain as calm as possible and try and hit the ball straight. I have been following his advice and try to remain calm. Showing no reactions. That has helped me a lot,” said Rinku after India’s six-wicket win over Australia in the first T20I in Vishakhapatnam.

“Feeling good that we won. My only aim was to be perfect when I walked out to bat, and it felt good out there to be playing alongside Surya. I was thinking of doing what I generally do in crunch situations and was trying to stay as calm as possible,” he added later.

Later, Rinku also spoke about the no-ball incident as his six was not considered both in his and his team’s score.

“I didn’t realize it was a no-ball until I heard it from Axar bhai in the dressing room. Although the winning six won’t be considered, it doesn’t matter; we won the match, that’s what matters,” said the 26-year-old.
