It seems like 11 out of 12 months in a year are filled with news reports of the administrative transitions in the Pakistan Cricket Board. The appointments of the new chairmen every 5-6 months have now become a routine in Pakistan Cricket. Apart from that, the changes in the coaching structure of the Pakistan Cricket Team are also something that always keeps hitting the headlines for a lot of reasons.
Meanwhile, the media reports have learned that the time has been up for the Director of Pakistan Men’s Cricket Team, Mohammad Hafeez. The speculations and assumptions started just after the gratitude post for Hafeez from their official X handle (formerly Twitter).
“The Pakistan Cricket Board extends heartfelt gratitude to Mohammad Hafeez, Director of Pakistan men’s cricket team, for his invaluable contributions,” read the tweet from Pakistan Cricket.
“Hafeez's passion for the game has inspired players and his mentorship during the tour of Australia and New Zealand has been of immense importance. The PCB wishes Hafeez good luck and success in his future endeavours,” the tweet read further.
Apart from this message, the photograph of Mohammad Hafeez that was shared by PCB had a text over it that read, “Thank You, Mohammad Hafeez”.

However, this ‘Thank You’ post for Mohammad Hafeez didn’t go down well with a lot of Pakistan cricket fans who have been disappointed with the performance of the team since Hafeez took over as the Director of the National Men’s Cricket Team.
The first assignment for Hafeez with the Pak cricket team was the three-match Test Series against Australia, in which Shan Masood’s men faced an embarrassing series defeat by 0-3. Later in the five-match T20I series against New Zealand, the men in green faced a 1-4 defeat under the directorship of Mohammad Hafeez.
