The veteran Indian pacer and comeback sensation of the ODI World Cup 2023, Mohammed Shami has amazed everyone with his stunning performances in the ongoing edition of the prestigious cricket quadrennial. He is currently the leading wicket-taker in the tournament, with 23 wickets in just 6 matches, including 3 outstanding five-wicket hauls.
Continuing his bowling heroics in the knockouts of the tournament, Shami scalped 7 wickets, registering the best bowling figures for India in the history of both ODI cricket and ODI World Cup.
Meanwhile, Shami’s iconic bowling performance also left the star Bollywood actor Sonu Sood amused and the latter came up with a hilarious post from his official X handle.

He also became the fastest ever to scalp 50 wickets in the ODI World Cup history, in just 17 innings of the 17 matches.
Shami has now 54 wickets in 17 innings of the 17 matches, he played for India, including four 4-wicket hauls and 4 five-wicket hauls in his ODI World Cup career. He is just one wicket behind former legendary Pakistan pacer Wasim Akram’s 55 ODI World Cup wickets to enter the top-5 leading wicket-takers in the 48-year-long history of the tournament.
