Amidst the consecutive defeats in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 and the alleged rifts within the management, another recent piece of news has left the entire Pakistan cricketing fraternity in shock. The Pakistan Cricket Board Chief Zaka Ashraf recently appeared on TV in an exclusive interview with ARY News’ sports journalist Shoaib Jutt.

Ashraf stunned everyone after he shared the personal WhatsApp chats of Babar Azam with the Board’s Chief Operating Officer, Salman Naseer. He did all this to support his stance of not having any communication with and from Babar during the ongoing tournament.

In the leaked screenshot of the WhatsApp chat, COO Salman Naseer can be seen asking the Pakistan skipper, “Babar, there’s also been news circulating on TV and social media that you have been calling Chairman and he’s not answering. Have you lately given him a call?”

The disclosed conversation also shows Babar’s reply as, “Salam Salman Bhai, Maine Sir Ko Koi Call nahin Ki (Salam Salman Bhai, I have not made any call to sir.”

Former skipper Azhar Ali questions channel and anchor for broadcasting personal chat

Meanwhile, an X-user shared the video of that particular moment when ARY news anchor Waseem Badami was broadcasting the screenshot of Babar Azam’s WhatsApp chat on air. The user looked frustrated and angry over the channel and anchor Waseem Badami as well.

“A shameful act done by ARY News by leaking Babar Azam's private WhatsApp messages on national TV. I agree on the manager's conflict of interest bit but doing this is an utterly shameful act expected better from Mr Waseem Badami,” wrote a user with the video of the particular segment.

However, former Pakistan skipper Azhar Ali who was also present there in the panel during the show, questioned this way of broadcasting the personal chat. Azhar also asked if the channel had taken the permission of Babar Azam or had Zaka Ashraf had taken the permission of Babar Azam to send this stuff to Shoaib Jutt.

Here’s the video when the channel disclosed Babar Azam’s WhatsApp chat:
