The inauguration of the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha Premier League took place recently with Home Minister Amit Shah as chief guest. This might be the way to give rise to more local talents in Gujarat with this league as well. There have been some iconic cricketers from Gujarat who have made a big impact in international cricket. The likes of Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah are some of the iconic cricketers who started their careers representing the Gujarat Cricket Association(GCA). Many people were excited to see the inauguration of a cricket league in the capital of Gujarat with one of the biggest politicians in India being part of it.

There have been a lot of local leagues that have started which have been following the same format of T20 cricket. The Tamil Nadu Premier League(TNPL) and Maharashtra Premier League(MPL) are some of the examples. This will be another way where many talented players can be found and play some competitive cricket going forward. These are big moves being made by some of the best administrators in the sport. The trend of local leagues is continuing and the people are already looking forward to it.

Hardik Pandya was present at the inauguration

There was another iconic player from Gujarat who was also present at the ceremony and he was none other than Hardik Pandya. Pandya might not be playing a lot of cricket recently, but he is still one of the iconic Indian all-rounders we know with over 3500 runs and 174 wickets in international cricket. Being one of the biggest cricketers in the state, it makes sense as to why he was present during this ceremony. Hardik will also be leading the Mumbai Indians in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League(IPL) as well.

This is a great moment for Gujarat cricket; we hope this becomes as successful as the previous leagues. The presence of Hardik Pandya and Amit Shah has already given the tournament a boost. Hardik might not be popular among the fans right now due to his comments and the way he has managed to replace Rohit Sharma as captain, but it is still good to see him promote the local people, especially from his state. Despite still getting some negative reception from everywhere it does not look like anything is affecting the star cricketer.
