The stage is all set for the blockbuster match as India U19 and Australia U19 will take on each other in the final of the Men’s Under-19 World Cup 2024. Both teams defeated South Africa and Pakistan in the first and second semi-final, respectively to make it to the final of the tournament.
Speaking of India, they have been unbeaten so far in the tournament, winning all six matches out of the six they played so far in the tournament. On the other hand, the Aussies have won 5 matches in the 6 matches they have played so far, including one match ending without any result due to rain.
Cricket fans are eagerly waiting for this highly anticipated final as it will be the third India vs Australia final in any marquee international tournament. Earlier, the senior men’s teams of India and Australia faced off each other in the WTC 2023 final and ODI World Cup 2023, where India lost on both occasions.
"We are firmly focused on the present" - India U19 skipper Uday Saharan
Now, it will be the time for India’s junior batch to clear off the revenge of the senior team’s defeats with Australia. However, the India U19 skipper doesn’t seem to think about revenge or something like that and the team is only focused on their target against Australia in the final of the tournament.
“No, we are not thinking about revenge. We are firmly focused on the present and we neither want to dwell on the past nor look too far ahead,” said Saharan to PTI Bhasha during a press interaction at the Willowmoore in Benoni.
