India and Australia are locking horns in the ongoing high-octane final of the ODI World Cup, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The men in blue have been completely dominant in the tournament so far with 10 successive wins in the 10 matches, they played so far, including the first semi-final against New Zealand.

Meanwhile, a few of the media reports also learned that the Indian Cricket Board has planned to felicitate and honour all the previous World Cup-winning captains at the final of the ODI World Cup 2023.

Meanwhile, the first-ever World Cup-winning captain of India in the ODI World Cup 1983, Kapil Dev was not present at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. He was also asked about the same when he was sitting as a guest in a transmission on the ABP News. He also answered the question clarifying the entire situation over the same question.

“I wasn’t invited. They didn’t call me so I did not go. As simple as that. I wanted the whole ‘83’ team to be there with me but I guess due to the fact it’s such a big event and people are so busy handling responsibilities, sometimes they forget,” said Kapil Dev to ABP News.

The video of Kapil Dev’s shocking statement over the Indian Cricket Board’s mistake is also making rounds on social media as soon as it was shared by a cricket fan over X (formerly Twitter).
