Former Indian speedster S Sreesanth has come up with a big statement while talking about the fitness of the former Indian skipper and the modern-day batting great, Virat Kohli. Sreesanth lauded Kohli for his incredible fitness and also predicted his future with Team India as a player in the upcoming years.

Notably, Virat Kohli is currently in action for India in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 in their backyard. He is also looking in a brilliant touch with the bat with crucial knocks of 85 runs and an unbeaten 55 runs in the first two matches against Australia and Afghanistan, respectively.

Meanwhile, Sreesanth came up with praising words for the 34-year-old batting stalwart during a recent interview.

“He (Kohli) looks 25 yaar. The way he runs in the field and the energy that he has; he biologically looks like 25. He will play a lot more and while people question whether this will be Kohli's last World Cup, I feel he can still continue playing. If Dhoni bhai can play in the IPL till 42 almost then Kohli also can play for India till 40 years of age. He has the fitness for it too,” said Sreesanth to Sportskeeda during an exclusive interview.

Furthermore, Sreesanth also spoke about the combination of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma and the importance of this duo for Team India in the coming few years during the big tournaments.

"I feel both Rohit and Virat can play another World Cup. Virat can play rather easily, but Rohit, if he works on his fitness, can do it too. He will surely keep performing. When you have such players, there's a saying called 'saat khoon maaf (laughs)',” he added later.

Now, India will play their next match in the ODI World Cup 2023 against the arch-rivals, Pakistan at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday, October 12. It will be the eighth time when India and Pakistan will be facing each other in the ODI World Cup.
