Star Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav went through an unexpected debut in the ODI World Cup 2023 after he got dismissed in an unfortunate run-out during the ongoing match against New Zealand. India lost Suryakumar Yadav on the fifth ball of the 34th over and it was the fifth wicket loss for India, and the second one in the two successive overs after KL Rahul fell prey to Mitchell Santner in the 33rd over.

It all happened when Virat Kohli played a shot to the covers and he was continuously looking at the ball as Mitchell Santner was fielding there in the covers. But the non-striker Suryakumar Yadav had already left his crease and he almost reached the other end near Kohli; the damage had been done already as the bails were grounded by Kiwi skipper Tom Latham at the batting end, resulting in Suryakumar Yadav’s early dismissal in his ODI World Cup debut.

He could score only 2 runs off 4 balls before getting into this entire confusion with the former Indian skipper and the batting superstar, Virat Kohli. The video of this unfortunate moment both for SKY and Team India is now making rounds on social media as soon as it was shared by a disappointed Indian fan on X (formerly Twitter).

Here’s the video of Suryakumar Yadav’s unfortunate run-out and confusion with Virat Kohli:

Speaking of the current action of the match, India have scored 228 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 40.2 overs, having former skipper Virat Kohli and star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja there in the middle. Kohli is currently playing at the individual score of 73 runs, alongside Jadeja who has scored 18 runs so far, with two boundaries.

Earlier, the opening pair of skipper Rohit Sharma and young batter Shubman Gill provided a good start to India. The duo stitched a partnership of 71 runs in 11.1 overs before Rohit Sharma got bowled to Lockie Ferguson at the individual score of 46 runs, with 4 fours and 4 sixes with the willow.
