WATCH: Gautam Gambhir slyly slams S Sreesanth with his 'Imaandar Khiladi' statement

Former India batter and now the commentator, Gautam Gambhir is currently in the controversial headlines after his heated on-field altercation with his former Indian teammate S Sreesanth. The incident happened during the recently concluded Legends League Cricket 2023, where retired players from various countries were featured.

Furthermore, S Sreesanth took to his official Instagram handle to come up with some accusations against Gambhir. Sreesanth said that Gambhir called the former a ‘fixer’ during the heated on-field debate.

Meanwhile, Gambhir was asked about the same incident during a youth sports event, and he came up with a brutal reply and took a sly dig at S Sreesanth without mentioning the latter’s name.

“You had a heated argument with S Sreesanth, he stated that you told him ‘fixer’, how do you look at this incident, overall?” asked the Sports Tak journalist to Gautam Gambhir.

“See, I don’t have anything to speak on this matter, I am here for a very good purpose to give a platform to young players and watch them who can uphold the name of their state, nation, and family with honesty,” replied Gambhir to Sports Tak.

The video of this statement from Gautam Gambhir is spreading rapidly over social media and cricket fans or experts are assuming that Gambhir indirectly targeted S Sreesanth with his ‘honesty’ remarks in this statement.

Coming back to the incident, it was further escalated by S Sreesanth as he couldn’t hold back from coming up with a long comment on Gautam Gambhir's recent Instagram post, in which the latter posted a picture of him back from 2007.

“You have exceeded the boundaries of a sportsman and a brother, and above all, you represent the people. Yet, you continue to engage in conflicts with every cricketer. What is the matter with you? All I did was smile and observe, and you labeled me a fixer? Seriously? Are you above the Supreme Court? You have no authority to speak in such a manner and say whatever you please. You even verbally abused the umpires, and yet you speak of smiling? You are an arrogant and utterly classless individual who lacks any form of respect for those who supported you. Until yesterday, I always held respect for you and your family. However, you used the derogatory term "fixer" not just once, but seven or eight times. You even resorted to using the F-word towards the umpires and myself, persistently trying to provoke me. Anyone who has experienced what I have endured would never forgive you. Deep down, you know that what you said and did was wrong. Im sure even God wont forgive you. You didn't even come to the field aftwr that. Come on, God is watching everything,” wrote Sreesanth in his comment on Gautam Gambhir
