In a thrilling third ODI between India and South Africa, young India batter Sanju Samson shines with a maiden international century. Pacer Arshdeep Singh also delivered a spectacular bowling performance as India thrashed the host by 78 runs. However, a light-hearted conversation between India skipper KL Rahul and South African all-rounder Keshav Maharaj took centre stage at Boland Park in Paarl.

As Keshav Maharaj walked in to bat with South Africa struggling at 177 for six, the speakers at Boland Park unexpectedly played the devotional song 'Ram Siya Ram.' It was at this moment that KL Rahul, donning the wicketkeeper's gloves, couldn't help but draw attention to the peculiar coincidence.

With a smile on his face, Rahul pointed out to Maharaj that the DJ always plays this song when he comes to bat. He said, "Keshav bhai... every time you come to the crease they play this song." Maharaj, acknowledging the amusing situation, responded with a simple 'yes,' creating a lighthearted exchange between the players on the field.

Sanju Samson leads India to a comfortable victory

Despite the friendly banter, the match showcased high-quality cricket, with Samson's century being a standout performance for India. The debutant Rajat Patidar and Sai Sudarshan fell early in the powerplay, but Samson steadied the ship with a fifty-run partnership alongside skipper KL Rahul. The real fireworks began with a formidable 116-run stand between Samson and young talent Tilak Varma, leading India to a competitive total of 296 for eight in 50 overs.

In response, Tony de Zorzi's resilient efforts for South Africa were curtailed by Arshdeep Singh at 81 off 87 balls. Unfortunately, the rest of the South African lineup failed to provide support, and they were eventually bundled out for 218 with 25 balls to spare, handing India a 78-run victory and clinching the series 2-1.
