Star England all-rounder Moeen Ali impressed everyone with his sensational all-round performance in the 29th match of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League 2024. Comilla Victorians and Chattogram Challengers played this match at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.

Moeen Ali scalped a sensational hat-trick in the second innings when the Victorians were defending a total of 239 runs. Ali claimed his hat-trick in the 17th over of the innings, dismissing Shohidul Islam, Al-Amin Hossain, and Bilal Khan to bundle out the Chattogram Challengers at the score of 166 runs in 16.3 overs from 166 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 16 overs.

Earlier in the first innings, Moeen Ali also played a blistering knock of 53 runs off just 24 balls, with 2 fours and 5 sixes when Victorians were asked to bat first by Chattogram Challengers, who won the toss.

Moeen Ali also stitched an unbeaten partnership of 128 runs for the fourth wicket with the opener Will Jacks; the latter also scored a swashbuckling century, scoring 108 runs off just 53 runs, hitting 5 fours and 10 sixes with the bat. These knocks helped the Victorians to post a total of 239 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Later in the second innings, the hosts failed to cross the line as they couldn’t survive against Moeen Ali’s bowling brilliance. Moeen scalped 4 wickets at the cost of just 23 runs in 3.3 overs. Besides him, Rishad Hossain also picked 4 wickets, alongside 2 wickets picked by senior pacer Mustafizur Rahman.
