The orange army registered their second win in the tournament after defeating Bangladesh by a big margin of 87 runs in the 28th match of the tournament at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Meanwhile, the Dutch skipper Scott Edwards made it to the social media headlines for an incident that happened after the victory against Bangladesh. It happened when the Netherlands’ players including skipper Edwards were thanking the crowd in Eden Gardens for supporting the Netherlands; the players were shaking hands and greeting the fans who were there in Eden Gardens to witness this special evening for the Dutch team.
In the same line of events, a fan girl came to Scott Edwards and tried to kiss him but the latter stepped back denying the same. The video of this incident is also making rounds on social media as soon as it was shared by a user on X (formerly Twitter).

Speaking of the action of the match between Netherlands and Bangladesh, the Dutch skipper Scott Edwards won the toss and decided to bat first. Batting first, the Netherlands managed to post a total of 229 runs, losing all the wickets in the allotted 50 overs. Scott Edwards played a captaincy knock of 68 runs, hitting 6 fours. Other than him, the veteran batter Wesley Barresi and middle order batter Sybrand Engelbrecht also played the knocks of 41 and 35 runs, respectively.
While defending the target, the Netherlands bowling attack led by the star pace spearhead Paul van Meekeren completely outmuscled the Bangladesh batting lineup. They bundled out Shakib Al Hasan’s men only on the score of 142 runs in 42.2 overs. Meekeren scalped 4 wickets, alongside two wickets picked by star all-rounder Bas de Leede. Other than these two, Dutt, van Beek, and Ackermann also bagged one scalp each to help the Netherlands win the match comfortably by 87 runs.
