Following reports of Virat Kohli's convoy being spotted in Ayodhya a day before the 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony at the Ram Mandir, there was widespread anticipation of the cricket star's presence at the temple's inauguration, accompanied by a star-studded lineup. However, it was Kohli's doppelganger who ended up grabbing the spotlight. The lookalike was dressed in Kohli's Indian jersey and goggles, drawing attention from enthusiastic Indian cricket fans who eagerly gathered around him for selfies and photos.

A video of the doppelganger was circulated on 'X,' capturing him initially posing for photos with people. As the crowd grew larger, he attempted to escape. Despite his efforts, he couldn't elude the crowd. Whether or not the 'real' Kohli participated in the 'Pran Pratishtha' at Ayodhya's Ram Mandir remains uncertain, but his duplicate must have experienced a taste of Kohli's fame, if only for a brief moment, amidst the chasing crowd.

Amidst this, thousands of devotees flocked to Ayodhya to participate in the Ram temple ceremony on Monday. Distinguished figures from various fields, including business, sports, and Bollywood, attended the event. Sporting luminaries such as Sachin Tendulkar, Anil Kumble, Ravindra Jadeja, Mithali Raj, and badminton star Saina Nehwal graced the Ram temple ceremony on Monday.

The board also mentioned that a replacement for Kohli would be announced shortly. Although Kohli arrived in Hyderabad, the venue of the first Test out of the five, on Sunday he did not participate in India's optional training session on Monday.

"Virat has spoken to captain Rohit Sharma, the team management and the selectors and has emphasized that while representing the country has always been his top priority, certain personal situations demand his presence and undivided attention," the board said in a statement.
