In the 2024 Women's Premier League auction, Kashvee Gautam made history by becoming the most expensive uncapped player, securing a bid of INR 2 crore from Gujarat Giants. The auction commenced with Phoebe Litchfield, the Australia star, who was also picked by the Giants for INR 1 crore. Another Australian all-rounder, Annabel Sutherland, shared the honour of being the joint-most expensive player in the 2024 auction, as Delhi Capitals acquired her for INR 2 crore.

The Women's Premier League 2024 auction witnessed intense bidding battles as franchises sought to strengthen their squads. Delhi Capitals secured Australia's Annabel Sutherland for INR 2 crores, while Phoebe Litchfield and Meghna Singh went to Gujarat Giants. Mumbai Indians signed South Africa's Shabnim Ismail for INR 1.20 crores.

The Karnataka opener, Vrinda Dinesh engaged in a three-way bidding war, ultimately going to UP Warriorz for INR 1.30 crores. Gujarat secured Kashvee Gautam for INR 2 crores, known for her historic 10-wicket haul in a U19 game. Unsold players included Chamari Athapaththu, Deandra Dottin, Kim Garth, Lea Tahuhu, Amanda Jade-Wellington, Alana King, Shivali Shinde, Punam Raut, and Tara Norris.

The defending champions Mumbai Indians Women (MIW) and the other four franchises, namely Delhi Capitals Women, Royal Challengers Women, Gujarat Giants, and UP Warriorz, prepared for a competitive bidding war to address the voids in their squads. Let us look at team combination after this auction;
