Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have a massive fanbase despite not winning a single trophy in 16 years of their participation in the T20 tournament. The Bangalore-based franchise has made three IPL final appearances but has never been able to lift the coveted crown on any of the occasions. In 2016, RCB had a stellar campaign under the leadership of then-captain Virat Kohli but suffered a heartbreaking loss to Sunrisers Hyderabad in the summit clash.
After Kohli stepped down as captain, RCB roped in Faf du Plessis from Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and handed the baton to the South African. In his first season with the Red Army (2022), du Plessis led them to the playoffs, finishing fourth in the points table. In the subsequent edition, the troop came with more intent to end their IPL title drought, but all they had was disappointment, finishing sixth in the points table.
Just as Faf and all the RCB players are waiting to crown the IPL 2024 season, millions of loyal fans are also eagerly waiting for that special moment to make their catchphrase - Ee Sala Cup Namde - a reality. Meanwhile, a restaurant staff in Doha, Qatar surprised du Plessis with a decorated plate inscribed with the franchise's catchphrase. "Hello Faf Ee Sala Cup Namde (RCB). From (Em Sherif)," it read. The Proteas batter posted an image of the same on his social media handle on Friday, September 1, and fans are giving it a lot of reactions.

Faf du Plessis ruled out of CPL 2023
Du Plessis had to pull out of the ongoing 2023 Caribbean Premier League (CPL) midway due to an elbow injury. He underwent a successful surgery at Aspetar Hospital in Doha and recently gave an update about the same on his social media account. The departure of the captain of St. Lucia Kings is a big blow for the team in their journey ahead. The 39-year-old was their second-highest run-getter last season and fourth-highest overall, with 332 runs in nine innings at a strike rate of 169.
Here's how fans reacted to Faf du Plessis receiving a unique gift from restaurant staff in Doha:
