The men in yellow defeated the IPL 2022 champions Gujarat Titans in the final of the tournament. By winning the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League, CSK also joined Mumbai Indians to jointly become the most successful team of the tournament with 5 titles each.

Apart from this, CSK was also banned from the tournament for two seasons, alongside Rajasthan Royals after the actions were taken in the infamous IPL 2013 spot-fixing probe.
