Former New Zealand skipper and batting great, Kane Williamson sustained a knee injury during the ongoing Indian Premier League 2023. He sustained this injury in the tournament opener between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Gujarat. The incident occurred when Williamson tried to stop a six from the Chennai batter Ruturaj Gaikwad.
Later on, he was rushed to medical treatment by the physios of the team; subsequently, in a further line of events, the veteran Kiwi batter was ruled out of the entire edition of the IPL 2023. He has now reached back to his country New Zealand for further treatment of the knee injury.
Meanwhile, in an unbelievably shocking piece of news for the New Zealand fans and the national cricket team of New Zealand, Kane Williamson is reported to get ruled out from the World Cup 2023 which is to be played in India later this year.
The news has left a wider section of cricket fans in utter shock and disappointment; they took to Twitter to come up with a lot of reactions and responses expressing concern for the 32-year-old modern-day batting great.
A user tweeted, “Feel for Kane Williamson. Gave his everything to save a few runs, but that effort ruled him out of the World Cup. He was POTS in the previous WC, a big blow to New Zealand. It would've been nice to see him lead NZ in India for the WC.”
