Domino's Pizza brutally roasts Chelsea amidst transfer market frustration

Having won the Champions League just two years ago, Chelsea have been thrown into turmoil due to the events in Eurasia. The tremors of the Russia- Ukraine war were felt in full strength at Stamford bridge. UK government wanting to banish Russian influence in the country banned the Blues' owner Roman Abramovich and forced him to sell the club to someone else. USA businessman and investor Todd Boehly bought the club with a huge £4.25 billion deal.

After promising to match the former owner’s ambitions for the club, Boehly came up with a couple of addition to the West London team but has not mirrored Abramovich's style.

Chelsea have been getting bullied by other clubs, primarily FC Barcelona. This is mainlu due to the fact that they continue to hijack their transfer targets. Chelsea’s fall from the top dogs in the transfer market to now being on the receiving end of the same has ensured hilarity among other club fans. Domino's Pizza, the famous pizza company has also joined hands to rub salt into Chelsea fans' wounds by a funny tweet.

“We’ve delivered about 852, 609 pizzas since Chelsea last delivered a successful transfer announcement.”

Recently Chelsea's transfer targets are being hijacked by other clubs. Thomas Tuchel-led club, for example, followed Jules Kounde for a couple of years and almost reached an agreement with the Sevilla player. Barcelona however came right in and snatched Kunde from Chelsea’s grasp at the last minute. Chelsea also courted the Leeds United winger Raphinha, matching the valuation of Leeds United. Raphinha however chose Barcelona and declined Chelsea’s approach.

Another player who chose Barcelona instead of the West London club is Ousmane Dembele who opted to extend his contract at the Spanish club instead of moving to the London club.

Robert Lewandowski, one of the best number nine in the world right now was the fourth player who rejected the English club for Barcelona. Signing Andres Christensen from Chelsea was a walk in the park for the Spanish club.

Having being beaten to almost half a dozen players in one transfer season, there is a real possibility for Chelsea to end up as a mid-table club in near future.
