Team India are currently busy playing the ODI series in New Zealand. However, they recently won the three-match T20I series against the Kiwis by 1-0. All big-name players took a rest from this whole tour. So, Hardik Pandya was leading the team in the T20I series. However, he did not disappoint as Hardik guided the Men in Blue to the series victory.
But, fans were not happy with some decisions from the skipper and team management. Sanju Samson did not manage to get a single game in the series. Regarding that, a journalist asked Hardik Pandya a question and he came up with a tricky answer. Now, in response to that, Ravichandran Ashwin has come up with an epic comparison with MS Dhoni.
“We all know that Hardik is super close to Thala Dhoni.” - Ravichandran Ashwin on Hardik Pandya
In response to a question regarding Sanju Samson, Hardik Pandya said: “He knows it's not personal. It's got to do with the situation. I am a peoples' person. So if anyone needs me, I will be there for them. Everyone knows that if they feel anything at all, my doors are always open for them to come and have a chat with me, because I understand how they are feeling.”
Now, Ravichandran Ashwin has compared that style with the former Indian skipper, MS Dhoni. While speaking on his YouTube channel, he said: “I don’t know if he wanted to say that in Thala Dhoni’s style because we all know that Hardik is super close to Thala Dhoni. He handled a tricky question that is always trending on social media very beautifully. So, kudos to Hardik.”
“Hardik Pandya replicated what he did for Gujarat Titans with the bat. He came out with all guns blazing. That was the only reason the match got tied,” Ashwin added. Speaking of the T20I series, the first match of the series got abandoned due to heavy rain in Wellington. Then, Hardik Pandya’s men defeated the hole side in Mount Maunganui in the second match. The third match in Napier ended in a tie after the rain stopped the play. Hence, India managed to win the series by 1-0.
