Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Lucknow Super Giants are clashing against each other in the 68th match of the Indian Premier League 2023 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Saturday, May 20. KKR’s hopes are almost ended in the tournament while LSG need a win to get a place in the playoffs.

Meanwhile, a video is getting viral on social media, in which fans who were present at Eden Gardens can be heard shouting Virat Kohli's name when Naveen-ul-Haq started bowling his first over. The incident took place when Naveen started the second over of the 2nd innings and KKR opener Jason thrashed him as Naveen conceded 15 runs in his first over. However, Naveen later took revenge when Rahmanullah Gurbaz departed and he silenced the crowd with a furious gesture.

Talking about the first innings, West Indies wicket-keeper hitter Nicholas Pooran spearheaded the Lucknow Super Giants' comeback with a quickfire fifty (58 off 30) and led them to 176/8 against Kolkata Knight Riders. After 10.1 overs, LSG was in trouble at 73/5, but Pooran and Ayush Badoni (25 off 21) put up an aggressive partnership of 74 runs for the sixth wicket to help them record a respectable total. For KKR, two wickets were taken by individuals like Shardul Thakur (2-27), Sunil Narine (2-28), and Vaibhav Arora (2-30).

Pooran arrived with good intentions and got things going quickly, while Badoni expertly played second fiddle. He challenged Varun Chakravarthy but showed a lot of respect for his West Indian comrade Narine. Although LSG had hoped the two batters would take advantage of the final two overs, Badoni and Pooran were both bowled out in the 18th and 19th overs, respectively. However, LSG was able to get 54 off the final 4 overs and finish with a score of 176/8 in just 20 overs because of their powerful hits before being dismissed.
