The rain has played a villain in the ongoing Super-4 match of the Asia Cup 2023 at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Meanwhile, the new conditions are likely to come in play as the game has been stopped for more than an hour now. The fans and experts of the game are speculating that the fixture might end up being played as a 20-over-a-side game if rain forces to stop the game till a specific time.
The cutoff time for a 20 overs chase is 10.36pm.

Pakistan will need to chase around 181 in 20 overs! pic.twitter.com/Vyrk91TfNo
Speaking of the action of the match, India were asked to bat first by Pakistan skipper Babar Azam who won the toss. The men in blue got a fiery start of 121 runs for the first wicket from the opening pair of skipper Rohit Sharma and his young partner Shubman Gill.
Shadab and Shaheen, bring back Pakistan in the game after India's fiery start
Rohit and Gill scored the crucial half-centuries at the start and contributed with individual knocks of 56 and 58 runs, respectively. Shadab Khan provided the first breakthrough to Pakistan by scalping the wicket of opponent skipper Rohit Sharma, who smashed him for three sixes in the early overs.
Just in the next over after Rohit’s dismissal, Shaheen got the better of Shubman Gill as the latter misjudged a slower one and ended up losing his wicket. At the time rain interruption, India were 147 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 24.1 overs. The comeback guy KL Rahul is there in the middle, alongside former skipper Virat Kohli. They have scored 17 and 8 runs, respectively.
Shaheen Shah Afridi and Shadab Khan scalped one wicket each for Pakistan in the first innings so far in the ongoing super-4 clash against the arch-rivals.
Notably, the last group-stage clash between India and Pakistan was washed off due to the heavy throughout the entire time after the end of the first innings. Unlike the last game, the organizers have scheduled a reserve day for this ongoing super-4 clash between the arch-rivals.
Here’s how fans reacted to the probably revised playing conditions:
