The arch-rivals India and Pakistan will face off each other in the high-octane clash in the super-4 round of the ongoing Asia Cup 2023. Earlier, both the teams met in the group stage of the tournament where the match was called off due to rain and only the first innings could be played amidst the rain crisis.

Meanwhile, Pakistan have announced their playing XI for the iconic clash against India. The management hasn’t made any change in the playing XI which they fielded in their first super-4 match against Bangladesh. The management will be going ahead with the four pacers, including the likes of Faheem Ashraf, Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Haris Rauf.

Pakistan started their super-4 campaign with a win against Bangladesh in the first match at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Wednesday, September 6.

Imam-ul-Haq, Fakhar Zaman, Babar Azam (C), Mohammad Rizwan (WK), Agha Salman, Iftikhar Ahmed, Shadab Khan, Faheem Ashraf, Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf.

Speaking from Pakistan’s point of view, they are currently in good touch in the tournament in most of the departments, including the batting and bowling. The star opener Imam-ul-Haq is currently enjoying good form with the bat as he played a brilliant match-defining knock of 78 runs, with 5 boundaries and 4 sixes. Other than him, wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan also contributed with a crucial knock of 63 runs, with 7 boundaries and a six.

Apart from that, Pakistan’s bowling attack, especially the pace trio of Naseem Shah, Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf is in red-hot form. Haris Rauf won the ‘Player of the Match award as he scalped 4 wickets at the cost of just 19 runs in 6 overs with an outstanding economy rate of 3.16. Other than him, Naseem Shah also scalped three wickets after conceding 34 runs in 5.4 overs.
